This piece was painted in early Spring at Cathedral Park in Portland, OR., with a worms eye view of the beautiful St. John's Bridge. It is one of the last remaining old bridges in Portland that boasts the strength of the city. For a few nights one summer the bridge was closed to all traffic so the Graffiti Abatement team could clean her up. A few artists and I took this late night opportunity to paint the view of the Columbia River. While painting, one of the workers boasted that "She is a Strong Bridge"and so that statement has stayed with me, along with the memories of painting her.
